Great buildings deserve smart solutions — and now, more customers in Canada can access them with even greater ease.
Canada Controls is excited to announce that Johnson Controls (JCI) products and building automation solutions, previously available across Western Canada, are now also supported in Ontario. That means if your project is in Yukon, Northwest Territories, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or Ontario — you can count on reliable access to world-class technology alongside local support from a team that understands your region’s needs.
Whether you’re specifying systems for a new build, planning a retrofit, or optimizing facilities operations, this expanded reach ensures the solutions you need are easier to source and implement than ever before.
Why This Expansion Matters
Johnson Controls is a global leader in building automation and controls — helping facilities deliver comfort, efficiency, and sustainability through intelligent, integrated systems. Their portfolio spans solutions that connect HVAC, lighting, security, and life safety systems into cohesive platforms that make buildings easier to manage and more cost-effective to operate.
As buildings become more complex and performance expectations grow, having trusted access to the right control systems — backed by local expertise — matters. That’s exactly what this expanded territory brings to Canadian projects: access to the technology you need, when you need it, with local support you can trust.
Spotlight on Facility Explorer — Flexible, Powerful, and Built for Real-World Projects
One of the standout building automation systems now more readily available across the expanded territory is Facility Explorer from Johnson Controls — a solution that delivers real capability without overwhelming complexity.

Unlike one-size-fits-all systems, Facility Explorer was built to be flexible, scalable, and contractor-friendly. Here’s what that translates to in real project terms:
- A modular control platform that grows with your facility’s needs
- Built-in support for open standards like BACnet for seamless integration
- A user-focused interface that simplifies daily operation
- Controllers designed for HVAC, terminal units, and plant-level applications
- Tools that help you tune performance and elevate energy efficiency
This isn’t just another controls system — it’s a solution that lets teams deliver effective automation without unnecessary headaches.
Putting It All Together: Better Access, Better Support, Better Outcomes
With Johnson Controls now serving a broader geographic footprint through Canada Controls, customers gain:
- Easier access to JCI products and automation systems
- Localized inventory and technical expertise
- A partner that can support specification, training, and solution selection
- A trusted bridge between global technology and regional needs
This expansion isn’t just about geography. It’s about strengthening support and making it easier for you to deliver reliable, future-ready building automation solutions.

Niagara Operations Feb 24 – 26
The goal of the Niagara Operations class is to give students an introduction to the Niagara software. The course will start with a light overview of BAS systems (building automation systems), and quickly move on to answer the question: "What is Niagara?" The class will review the JACE (Java Application Control Engine) hardware, show users how to explore Niagara WorkBench in a web browser, discuss protocols and why / how we use them in Niagara. The class will also have hands on labs to allow users to see how devices can be brought into the software, a demo of how control loops work and can be manipulate, and how wire sheet programming works in real time. We will also cover how scheduling and alarming works, and go over some basic troubleshooting steps.
